Yangju City Accepts Applications for 'New Year Military Noise Damage Compensation' Until February 28

Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 10th that it will accept applications for 2025 compensation for the 'Military Noise Countermeasure Areas' from January 13 to February 28.

The compensation recipients are residents who have their resident registration in noise countermeasure areas designated by the Ministry of National Defense and have actually lived there from November 27, 2020, to December 31, 2024. Residents who did not apply for military noise compensation in the relevant year can apply retroactively. However, duplicate applications are not allowed.


The noise countermeasure areas in the jurisdiction include four locations: Noyasan Training Ground, Ganap-ri Airfield, Sinsan-ri Airfield, and Mugeon-ri Training Ground. Eligibility can be checked through the 'Ministry of National Defense Military Noise Website.'


The compensation amount varies by individual and is paid monthly as follows: 60,000 KRW for Zone 1, 45,000 KRW for Zone 2, and 30,000 KRW for Zone 3. The amount may be adjusted based on the length of residence, time of moving in, workplace, and the number of shooting days per month. After deliberation and resolution by the 'Yangju City Military Noise Countermeasure Deliberation Committee' scheduled for May, payments will be made individually in August.


Applications can be submitted by visiting or sending registered mail to the Civil-Military Cooperation Team of the Balanced Development Policy Division of Yangju City, and from the 14th, applications can also be made through 'Government24.'
