Securing Transparency Through Proper Management of Local Subsidies for Disability Support
Gyeongbuk Gimcheon City is implementing various methods to secure sound finances, reduce budget waste, and ensure transparency in budget execution.
On the 10th, Gimcheon City announced that it conducted the '2025 Local Subsidy Execution Manual Training' for about 60 participants, including disability organizations, facilities, and workers from disability voucher providers, at the meeting room on the 2nd floor of Gimcheon City Hall.
This training was conducted to enhance the transparency and efficiency of local subsidies and to prevent improper execution. Attendees studied the overall manual contents, including laws and guidelines related to subsidy execution, reaffirming the importance of fair financial management.
In particular, specific standards for execution by budget item and methods for handling supporting documents were presented to private institutions unfamiliar with accounting tasks. Through education on cases of subsidy misuse and prevention measures, the transparency of project fund execution was further ensured.
Son Jeong-ae, Director of the Social Welfare Division at Gimcheon City Hall, said, “Through this training, we aim to enhance the transparency and reliability of local subsidy execution and strengthen the practical capabilities of public officials and subsidy project operators to promote efficient management of public finances.”
Gimcheon City operates 12 offices for disability organizations within the Disability Comprehensive Welfare Center and the Disability Hall, and supports an annual budget of about 29 billion KRW for five residential facilities for the disabled, six community rehabilitation facilities for the disabled, and one vocational rehabilitation facility.
