Now in its third year, the Policy Monitoring Group is composed of citizens deeply interested in the issues of Hanam City's four regions (Wondosim, Misa, Gam-il, Wirye). It serves as a citizen policy think tank that gathers public opinion from local residents and proposes policies tailored to the needs of each region.
At this meeting, Hanam City reported on major policies and project statuses including △ plans to improve and expand district bus routes such as increasing the number of Village-50 buses △ project progress such as the K-Star World business briefing △ public recruitment status for private developers in the Camp Colburn urban development project △ measures to provide citizen-satisfying civil complaint services △ opening of the Senior Health Center (located on the 2nd floor of Deokpung Sports and Culture Center) △ introduction of a customized online integrated education platform.
Additionally, key issues by region including Wondosim, Misa, Gam-il, and Wirye were brought to the discussion table.
Before the regular meeting, the Policy Monitoring Group held preliminary subcommittee meetings by region to organize issues of high interest to residents and conveyed them to the city.
Based on this, Hanam City summarized and reported on the promotion plans for major pre-collected agenda items such as △ Wondosim: review of separated sewage treatment system, consideration of building a senior welfare center and a children’s center △ Misa: proposals for new apartment complexes, plans to modernize the comprehensive sports complex △ Gam-il: future plans regarding delays in construction of Gam-il No.1 pedestrian overpass, measures to address taxi usage inconveniences when traveling from Seoul to Gam-il △ Wirye: plans to extend the Wirye Sinsa Line to Hanam, utilization plans for Seongnam Golf Course.
Furthermore, the Policy Monitoring Group proposed various opinions and ideas on the day, including △ forming a TF team to respond to malicious civil complaints △ developing healing programs utilizing Hanam City’s excellent natural environment. The city plans to review these suggestions in relevant departments and strive to reflect them in city administration.
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae stated, “The year 2025, marking the third year of the 8th elected administration, will be a year to reap the fruits of ‘a leaping Hanam’ based on the foundation laid so far,” and added, “I ask the Policy Monitoring Group to actively monitor whether the city’s policies are being well implemented by collecting and conveying the voices of citizens.”
