Cheonan City in Chungnam Province simultaneously launched a tourism development plan for the Independence Hall area and a service for establishing detailed construction and operation plans for the Seongseong Art Center on the 10th.

The comprehensive tourism development plan for the area surrounding the Independence Hall aims to make the hall a central hub by connecting it with nearby attractions such as Yongyeon Reservoir and Cheonan Samgeori.

The project budget is 300 million KRW, and the service will be carried out by Korea Engineering Consultants Corp. until October this year.

Preparations for the construction of the Seongseong Art Center have also officially begun.

The city will invest 115 million KRW to establish construction and detailed operation plans by April, and based on this, plans to request a feasibility study in the second half of this year. The service provider is Meta Planning Consulting.

The center is planned to be built by 2029 at 96-6 Seongseong-dong, with a total floor area of about 30,000 square meters (9,075 pyeong) and nine stories above ground.

The exact project cost is not yet known as the detailed plan has not been finalized, but the city estimates that approximately 110 billion KRW will be needed.
