Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 10th that it is accepting applications for marine and fisheries projects for 2025 to promote the development of the local fisheries industry and revitalize the fishing village economy.
This support program covers 28 projects across the entire marine and fisheries sector, including fishing vessel operations, aquaculture, and seafood processing, with a total budget of 2.6 billion KRW. Projects such as high-income seed shellfish distribution are included. Applications for next year's projects should follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ national subsidy project manual for this year.
Eligible applicants are fishers, fisheries corporations, and fisheries organizations registered as fisheries business entities and residing in Hampyeong County. However, applicants must meet the specific qualifications and essential requirements for each project.
Applicants will be selected after submitting an application and business plan, followed by feasibility reviews, priority determination based on evaluation criteria, on-site inspections, and deliberation by a review committee. Final selections are expected to be confirmed in March.
Fishers and organizations wishing to participate should prepare the application and required documents and submit them in person to the Marine and Fisheries Team of the Rural Community Division at Hampyeong County Office.
Lee Sangik, the governor of Hampyeong County, emphasized, "By leveraging the unique characteristics of each fishing village and implementing differentiated projects linking fishing grounds, ports, and villages, we can achieve more effective improvements in business structures. This year as well, we will actively discover and continuously promote a variety of support programs to increase fishers’ income."
