The world's largest foundry (semiconductor contract manufacturing) company, TSMC, continued its growth momentum in December last year, fueled by the artificial intelligence (AI) boom.
TSMC announced on the 10th that its sales in December last year reached 278.163 billion New Taiwan dollars (approximately 12.3588 trillion Korean won), a 57.8% increase compared to the same month of the previous year (176.3 billion New Taiwan dollars).
This was a 0.8% increase from the previous month (276.058 billion New Taiwan dollars).
Last year's annual sales amounted to 2.89438 trillion New Taiwan dollars (approximately 128.5941 trillion Korean won), a 33.9% increase compared to 2023 (2.161736 trillion New Taiwan dollars).
Bloomberg reported that TSMC's sales in the fourth quarter of last year rose 39% year-on-year to 868.5 billion New Taiwan dollars, surpassing the market estimate of 854.7 billion New Taiwan dollars.
