Jeollanam-do has reiterated its stance regarding the establishment of a memorial park, stating, "After the accident recovery is completed, we plan to discuss the detailed plans for the memorial park with relevant agencies, respecting the wishes of the bereaved families and the public."

On the 10th, Jeollanam-do released a statement through its spokesperson, saying, "The announcement of follow-up measures after the Jeju Air passenger plane accident on the 6th was made with the determination that this is a new beginning, focusing above all on comforting the bereaved families and healing their wounds." The statement continued, "We have presented in as much detail as possible the roles of Jeollanam-do and the government's recommendations for the most urgent support for bereaved families, thorough investigation of the cause, and prevention of recurrence, expressing our commitment to do our utmost until the end."

The statement added, "We have announced plans to promote a special law that includes grounds for compensation, such as psychological treatment and living expenses support for bereaved families, as well as compensation and consolation payments for damages." It went on, "As a key element of the special law, the establishment of a memorial park to comfort the victims and their families has also been included. This matter has been discussed with representatives of the bereaved families, has been agreed upon with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport regarding the establishment itself, and has also been reported to Lee Jaemyung, leader of the Democratic Party."

Jeollanam-do once again emphasized, "After the urgent accident recovery is completed, we plan to discuss the timing, scale, and other detailed implementation plans with relevant agencies, respecting the wishes of the bereaved families and the public."

Meanwhile, on the 9th, the Jeollanam-do branch of the Democratic Party issued a statement claiming, "Jeollanam-do is unilaterally pushing ahead with the establishment of the memorial park under government leadership without consensus from the bereaved families and others."
