Stable Production Base and Improved Distribution Structure
"Promoting the Value of Solar Salt Domestically and Internationally"

Shinan County in Jeonnam Province (Governor Park Wooriang) announced on the 10th that it will invest a total of 21.5 billion KRW to modernize production facilities and enhance hygiene management in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the solar salt industry and increase consumer trust.

This project aims to automate production facilities and create a hygienic production environment, including a salt field flooring improvement project (3.7 billion KRW) and support for automated salt harvesting equipment and mobile cart automation devices (1 billion KRW). In addition, the county plans to establish a stable production base by supporting long-term storage facilities for solar salt (200 million KRW) and packaging materials (400 million KRW).

To improve the distribution structure, 9.5 billion KRW will be invested in the creation of a solar salt distribution complex, 100 million KRW in the registration of a geographical indication system, and 200 million KRW in promotion and marketing. In particular, the county plans to maximize the distribution efficiency of solar salt by linking storage, processing, and distribution functions centered around the Solar Salt Integrated Distribution Center, which was constructed at a scale of 17 billion KRW.

Furthermore, to expand sales channels for solar salt and develop high value-added products, the county will introduce automated small packaging machines (500 million KRW) and promote export marketing projects. Efforts will also be focused on improving working conditions: a one-on-one dedicated system will be implemented to protect the human rights of salt field workers, and 10 billion KRW will be invested to build safe accommodations for these workers. In addition, customized on-site human rights education will be provided to further accelerate improvements in the working environment.

Governor Park Wooriang stated, "Modernizing production facilities and creating a hygienic environment are essential to secure the competitiveness of the solar salt industry," and added, "We will widely promote the value of Shinan Solar Salt both domestically and internationally through a stable production base and improved distribution structure."
