According to the county, in order to more practically hear the vivid voices of local residents, the "Visit to Eup and Myeon" event held at the beginning of the year has been changed to "Meeting with Eup and Myeon Residents" starting this year.

Accordingly, the county is breaking away from the conventional ceremonial events and meeting formats and is encouraging the participation of as many residents as possible to listen to diverse opinions from all walks of life. In particular, the dialogue time with residents has been doubled from the previous 50 minutes to 100 minutes this year to enhance the substance.

Governor Seo Tae-won said regarding the strengthening of communication, "Since administration is ultimately for the happiness of the residents, we will listen carefully even to small voices and work to reduce inconveniences," and pledged, "In the new year, above all, we will listen more closely to the voices of the residents and provide practical help."

Accordingly, Governor Seo plans to continue the "Meeting with Eup and Myeon Residents" by touring six eup and myeon from Gapyeong-eup starting on the 9th until the 14th.

At the "2025 Gapyeong-eup Meeting with Residents" held on the 9th at the Gapyeong-eup Administrative Welfare Center, 30 participants including village chiefs representing local residents and representatives of civic and social organizations attended to propose inconveniences and current issues in the region. Through this, they shared requests and problems in various fields such as transportation, welfare, and local commercial districts and spent time considering solutions together.

The main proposals raised on-site that day focused on issues closely related to residents' daily lives, including △ alleviating inconvenience in local residents' vehicle operation due to traffic congestion on Nami Island △ securing parking lots for local residents △ improving traffic systems causing inconvenience in local residential areas △ expanding promotion and guidance for the five-day market △ developing representative food and income crops of Gapyeong △ measures to expand the 2nd Gyeongchun National Road and major transportation infrastructure.

Governor Seo Tae-won said, "I expect this meeting to be a valuable opportunity for Gapyeong residents and the administration to come one step closer," and added, "Since active communication with residents is the driving force for the development of county administration, we will continue to listen more frequently to the vivid voices from the field and reflect them in the county administration to create a better Gapyeong together."
