SOS Lab announced on the 10th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation on LiDAR-based autonomous driving solutions with VueRun Technology (hereinafter VueRun), a LiDAR solution specialist company.
Through this agreement, both companies plan to advance LiDAR and perception algorithms based on their respective technological strengths. They aim to provide differentiated services in various fields such as autonomous vehicles and robots, and to closely collaborate in multiple areas including discovering new demand markets and expanding market presence.
VueRun, which SOS Lab signed the agreement with, was founded in 2019 by CEO Kim Jaewang, who previously worked at Hyundai Motor Company's Autonomous Driving Center. Based on AI-powered LiDAR perception technology, VueRun has been developing solutions and platforms applicable to various fields including autonomous vehicles, smart infrastructure, and industrial safety.
VueRun's main products include △VueOne △VueTwo △VueX. 'VueOne' is a LiDAR-based perception solution for autonomous driving and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) that can realize autonomous driving with a single LiDAR sensor. Through this, VueRun succeeded in becoming the first in the world to obtain autonomous driving licenses in both Korea and the United States.
'VueTwo' is a LiDAR solution for smart infrastructure, widely used in traffic management and safety sectors. 'VueX,' newly unveiled this year at the world's largest IT and electronics exhibition, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2025), is an innovative platform that quickly and accurately provides various LiDAR solutions tailored to customer needs.
An SOS Lab official said, "As the adoption of LiDAR expands across various future industries and the global LiDAR market size rapidly grows, the two companies, each with strengths in hardware and software, decided to join forces to enhance the competitiveness of domestic LiDAR technology and create a safer society."
He added, "Through this cooperation, we will accelerate the popularization of LiDAR technology and further strengthen the position of 'K-LiDAR' technology in the global market. We will closely collaborate to introduce innovative products in various fields such as autonomous driving, logistics, and smart cities."
