Chonnam National University is drawing attention as five family companies from the LINC 3.0 Project Group and seven companies through the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Innovation Platform are showcasing their innovative technologies and products on the global stage.
Chonnam National University announced on the 10th that it operated the ‘Chonnam National University Pavilion’ at the world’s largest international electronics exhibition (CES), held in Las Vegas, USA, from the 7th to the 10th (local time).
At ‘CES 2025’, 20 students participated through active support from the LINC 3.0 Project Group and the ‘Global PBL Program’, gaining opportunities to directly experience cutting-edge technology trends and develop a global perspective.
Additionally, through the ‘Acceleration Program’ for family companies, five companies were supported to successfully take the stage at CES.
One of the family companies, Ecopis Co., Ltd., received the CES 2025 Innovation Award in the smart city category for its groundbreaking robot ‘Healing Boa’, which applies autonomous driving technology to purify water pollution while providing water leisure activities. ‘Healing Boa’ was honored with the award for its differentiated technology that removes algae from water bodies through autonomous driving functions, enabling both environmental protection and relaxation.
Kim Byungin, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Chonnam National University, said, “The experience at CES will serve as a stepping stone to elevate Chonnam National University’s global competitiveness to the next level. I hope family companies will devote themselves even more to developing technologies that lead the global market, and that students, based on these experiences, will demonstrate their exceptional talents and grow into world-leading talents.”
A university official stated, “The joint participation of the university, companies, students, and local governments in ‘CES 2025’ will remain a symbolic example of efforts to realize the global leap of the regional industry and the implementation of regional innovation values.”
