"Fostering Convergent Talent in the Field of Global Symbiosis"
Honam University Humanities and Social Convergence Talent Development Project Group (HUSS) participated in the "HUSS Joint Convergence Camp Jisanhak Leadership Academy" held at Jeonju University and Jeonju Hanok Village from the 6th to the 8th. Provided by Honam University
The Honam University Humanities and Social Sciences Convergence Talent Development Project Group (HUSS) announced on the 10th that it participated in the "HUSS Joint Convergence Camp Jisanhak Leadership Academy" held at Jeonju University and Jeonju Hanok Village.
This camp, held from the 6th to the 8th, was attended by HUSS project participants including Professor Jung Eunseong (Department of Tourism Management, Head Professor of Global Symbiosis Studies), Professor Noh Hyunjae (School of Business Administration), and 16 students from Honam University.
The event focused on strengthening exchange and cooperation among the four consortiums and fostering innovative leadership through the integration of local communities, industries, and universities.
On the first day, there was an orientation ceremony, followed by lectures on "Assistive Technology and Digital Accessibility" by Professors Son Seunghyun and Kim Soyoon, and "Jjanggu IP Business and Jeonju Popup Store" by General Manager Kim Jongrae.
On the second day, participants engaged in field experiences learning about local culture and history through a tour of Jeonju Hanok Village, and attended lectures such as "The Light and Shadow of the AI Transformation Era" by Professor Yoo Hanbyeol, "AI and the Media Industry" by Producer Choi Mingeun, and "Sustainable Village Development Projects" by Dr. Kim Geonwi.
On the final day, an idea contest called "Beyond the Hanok Village" was held, where participants proposed creative and innovative ideas. At the awards ceremony, Honam University student Jo Sangmi (Department of Tourism Management) received the Empathy Award as a member of the Global Symbiosis Consortium representative team.
Jo Sangmi said, "It was an opportunity to grow by considering regional revitalization and coexistence models through exchanges with various experts."
In addition to on-site lectures, the camp supported in-depth learning through a variety of online lectures, including "Digital Startups" by Professor Park Jaehong, "The Secret to Longevity of Japanese Local Companies" by Professor Hyun Yongwoo, "Corporate Social Contribution Activities" by Professor Park Huidae, and "Poetry and Content" by Professor Yeo Younghyun.
This camp provided participants with new perspectives through convergent learning for regional revitalization and sustainable industrial development, contributing to the creation of social value.
A representative from Honam University stated, "Based on 9 billion KRW in support from the National Research Foundation of Korea over three years since last year, we plan to nurture convergent talents in the field of global symbiosis in cooperation with Kwangwoon University (lead university), Kookmin University, Sun Moon University, and Yeungnam University."
