SK Hynix, SKT, and US Penguin Solutions Collaborate on AI Data Center Business

Joint R&D and Business Promotion Agreement Signed at CES 2025
"Overcoming Memory Technology Limits... Leading the Expansion of the Global AI Ecosystem"

SK Hynix is strengthening its competitiveness in high-bandwidth memory (HBM) by conducting research and development (R&D) together with SK Telecom and Penguin Solutions, a U.S.-based AI data center integrated solutions company. The company plans to realize SK Group's vision of leading the expansion of the global AI ecosystem.

On the 9th (local time), SK Hynix announced on the 10th that it signed an agreement with SK Telecom and Penguin Solutions in Las Vegas, USA, to jointly conduct R&D and business promotion for 'AI data center solutions.'


The signing ceremony was held at the CES 2025 event in Las Vegas, where Yoo Young-sang, CEO of SK Telecom, Mark Adams, CEO of Penguin Solutions, and Kim Ju-seon, President of AI Infrastructure at SK Hynix, met.


SK Hynix explained that Penguin Solutions is a leading U.S. company providing integrated solutions for AI data centers. The company builds and manages customized data centers for businesses offering AI services.


Through the agreement, the three companies will pioneer new markets for the global expansion of AI data centers and jointly engage in R&D and commercialization of solutions. They will also closely cooperate in developing next-generation memory products for data centers.


SK Hynix plans to strengthen its differentiated HBM competitiveness through this three-party collaboration.


SK Hynix stated, "Innovation in memory semiconductor technology is essential for the efficient operation of AI data centers, with improvements in power efficiency and heat dissipation performance being key challenges. Through cooperation among the three companies, we will overcome the limitations of memory technology and lead the expansion of the global AI ecosystem."
