Hyundai Motor and NVIDIA Join Forces... Comprehensive Collaboration on AI, Robotics, and Digital Twin Technologies

Hyundai Motor Group has partnered with global semiconductor company NVIDIA. This collaboration aims to enhance core mobility solutions with intelligence and expand the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies across its business, including software-defined vehicles (SDV), AI robots, and digital twin technology factory operations.

On the 10th, Hyundai Motor Group announced that it signed a strategic partnership with NVIDIA for mobility innovation on the 9th at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas Hotel in Nevada, USA.

Through this partnership, Hyundai Motor Group will advance the utilization of digital twin technology. Digital twin technology involves creating an identical twin factory in a virtual space and managing all factory operations through data. By using this technology, it is possible to simulate the construction and operation processes of new factories, thereby improving manufacturing efficiency and quality while reducing costs.

The core of digital twin technology lies in how vast amounts of data are operated and managed. To this end, Hyundai Motor Group plans to utilize NVIDIA's digital twin platform, 'Omniverse.'

Additionally, Hyundai Motor Group will use NVIDIA's accelerated computing hardware and generative AI development tools to establish a system for safely training AI models on massive amounts of data and develop AI applications needed across the entire value chain.

Finally, Hyundai Motor Group will collaborate with NVIDIA to develop AI-based robots using NVIDIA's robotics platform, 'Isaac,' and to build virtual environments necessary for robot learning.

Kim Heung-soo, head of Hyundai Motor Group's Global Strategy Office (GSO), said, "Hyundai Motor Group is making innovative attempts by utilizing AI in various fields such as robotics, autonomous driving, and smart factories. Through cooperation with NVIDIA, we will solidify and accelerate these innovations to leap forward as a leading company in future mobility."

Rishi Dall, Vice President of NVIDIA Automotive, said, "Through this partnership, Hyundai Motor Group will be able to create more stable and intelligent vehicles, strengthen manufacturing capabilities with high efficiency and quality, and build an environment to develop innovative robotic technologies."
