District Mayor: "Doing Our Best to Solve Residents' 'Splinter Under the Nail'"
Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) will hold the ‘Dong New Year Work Report Meeting’ in 18 neighborhoods from the 13th to the 17th to share the district’s administrative direction and major project plans with residents for the new year.

The Dong Work Report Meeting is an occasion where Mayor Lee meets residents directly to exchange New Year greetings, share Yangcheon-gu’s policy direction for 2025, and listen to opinions on local issues. Attendees can hear detailed explanations about last year’s achievements, major policies planned for this year, key priority projects of high resident interest, and neighborhood-specific pending projects.
The meetings will be held sequentially in 18 neighborhoods, starting with Sinwol 1-dong: △ January 13 ? Sinwol 1, 3, 5-dong △ January 14 ? Sinwol 2, 6-dong and Sinjeong 3, 4-dong △ January 15 ? Sinwol 4, 7-dong and Sinjeong 6, 7-dong △ January 16 ? Mok 2, 3, 4, 5-dong △ January 17 ? Mok 1-dong and Sinjeong 1, 2-dong.
Mayor Lee Gi-jae, who has emphasized on-site administration and direct communication as the district’s governance philosophy, placed special focus on collecting residents’ practical needs and seeking solutions during this Dong Work Report Meeting. To this end, the ‘Dialogue Time with Residents’ will be expanded to allow for Q&A and discussions regarding residents’ suggestions and inconveniences.
Any Yangcheon-gu resident can attend and freely express various opinions and suggestions on-site. Submitted suggestions will be answered on the spot or actively reviewed by relevant departments, with the processing progress and results directly communicated to the proposers.
Over the past two years, the district has received a total of 239 suggestions through Dong work reports in various fields such as economy and safety, health and welfare, roads and sewage, traffic and parking, parks and green spaces, of which 204 have been reflected and implemented, producing positive outcomes.
Mayor Lee Gi-jae said, “This Dong New Year Work Report Meeting is an opportunity to show residents tangible changes in Yangcheon-gu and to introduce the vision and major project plans for 2025. We will do our best to make this a meaningful communication platform that solves residents’ ‘thorn under the nail’ issues rather than a routine event.”
