Dongdaemun-gu Secures 10.5 Billion Won in External Funding Last Year

Selected for 56 Public Projects Securing 10.5 Billion KRW in External Funding
Received 52 External Awards Including the Grand Prize at the 20th Korea Local Autonomy Management Awards

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Ilpyeong Lee) announced on the 10th that it achieved excellent results by being selected for 56 public contest projects last year, securing 10.5 billion KRW in external funding, and winning 52 awards in evaluations by external organizations.


The district continuously made efforts to secure external funding and strengthen external competitiveness by conducting "Public Contest Response Strategy Training" to encourage employees to participate in public contest projects hosted by central government ministries and Seoul City.


As a result, last year, the district secured more than 10.5 billion KRW in external funding from 56 public contest projects and achieved 52 awards in evaluations by external organizations.

Major selected projects include ▲ the 2024 Digital Logistics Service Demonstration Project (2 billion KRW) ▲ Smart Village Distribution and Expansion Project (800 million KRW) ▲ 2025 Nationally Designated Cultural Heritage Repair and Maintenance Project (700 million KRW), which greatly support the district’s key initiatives.


In addition, the district was recognized in various categories in external organization evaluations, including ▲ the 2024 National Happiness Civil Service Office (Prime Minister’s Commendation) ▲ the 20th Korea Local Autonomy Management Competition (Grand Prize) ▲ the 2024 Local Government Carbon Neutrality Best Practices (Minister’s Commendation), recording a total of 52 awards, a 36% increase of 14 awards compared to 38 awards in 2023, demonstrating outstanding achievements.


Ilpyeong Lee, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “This achievement was possible thanks to the sincere efforts of our employees in their respective positions,” and added, “We will do our best to fully demonstrate our administrative capabilities in 2025 to achieve even better results.”
