Gyeonggi Province is publicly recruiting project implementing organizations to participate in the "Customized Job Project for Persons with Disabilities" until the 24th of this month.
The Customized Job Project for Persons with Disabilities is a program that discovers and disseminates suitable jobs for persons with severe disabilities, such as persons with disabilities, multiple disabilities, brain lesion disabilities, and developmental disabilities, who face relatively greater difficulties in finding employment in the general labor market. The project will be conducted over 23 months from February this year to December next year.
Eligible organizations for participation in the project are non-profit corporations and groups related to persons with disabilities within the province that possess the capacity and expertise to smoothly carry out the project, such as supporting job creation for persons with disabilities.
Gyeonggi Province will select around 9 implementing organizations for customized jobs by disability type and about 37 for rights-centered customized jobs for persons with severe disabilities.
Customized jobs by disability type include vocational training, direct jobs, and linkage to private employment, targeting unemployed persons with disabilities aged 18 or older residing in the province.
Rights-centered customized jobs for persons with severe disabilities involve jobs performing duties such as ▲ advocacy for the rights of persons with disabilities ▲ cultural and artistic activities for persons with disabilities ▲ activities to improve awareness of disabilities. These jobs are for persons with severe disabilities aged 18 or older residing in the province who are unemployed, including persons with multiple disabilities, brain lesion disabilities, developmental disabilities, and those who have recently become independent in the local community.
Seo Bong-ja, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Disability Independence Support Division, said, "This is a meaningful project that supports persons with disabilities to perform quality jobs suitable for themselves," adding, "Especially since this project supports persons with disabilities in the province who are excluded from employment, we ask for the interest and participation of many organizations with expertise and capacity."
