Agency: "We Will Respond Strongly Without Leniency"
Actress Seo Yea-ji announced that she has filed lawsuits against 130 malicious commenters.
On the 9th, Seo Yea-ji's agency Sublime issued an official statement saying, "We would like to inform you about the legal actions being taken against malicious posts and comments targeting our artist Seo Yea-ji." The agency stated, "As false and malicious posts about Seo Yea-ji have been indiscriminately posted, we can no longer overlook the psychological distress caused to our artist. After discussions, we are proceeding with lawsuits against the authors of these malicious posts."
They continued, "Recently, we formed a dedicated team to monitor malicious posts on online communities, SNS, and portal sites. We have also appointed a law firm and filed the first round of lawsuits against approximately 130 malicious commenters, and investigations are underway." Finally, the agency emphasized, "Through continuous monitoring, we will respond strongly without any leniency to malicious rumors, posts, and comments to protect our artist."
Meanwhile, Seo Yea-ji was previously embroiled in allegations of gaslighting her ex-boyfriend, actor Kim Jung-hyun, in 2021. At that time, it was reported that Seo Yea-ji suggested removing romance scenes with another actress or instructed Kim Jung-hyun to act stiffly in front of the opposite sex, which sparked controversy. Later, Kim Jung-hyun reportedly issued a public apology to the other actress at the '2024 KBS Drama Awards.'
