The Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Office of SMEs and Startups under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Acting Director Lee Sunseok) announced on the 9th that it will hold the Digital Onnuri Gift Certificate (hereinafter referred to as Digital Gift Certificate) Big 4 Event until the 10th of next month to ease consumer price burdens during the Lunar New Year holiday.
During this event, the discount rate for Digital Gift Certificates will be raised from the existing 10% to 15%. The rate is increased by 5 percentage points to help reduce the price burden for people purchasing ritual goods and other items at traditional markets for the Lunar New Year.
In addition, up to 15% of the Digital Gift Certificate payment amount will be refunded in the form of Digital Gift Certificates. The refunds will be given in four installments, and for each round, a maximum of 20,000 won per person will be refunded based on the accumulated payment amount for both card and mobile types.
The actual refund will be provided one week after the end of each round (for rounds 1 to 3) via the gift function (card type) or coupon registration (mobile type). Refunds will be given in units of 1,000 won, calculated as 15% of the payment amount, and the minimum payment amount required for a refund is 7,000 won.
At the special discount event held at 12 online traditional market sections, including Onnuri Market and Onnuri Traditional Market, a 5% discount coupon can be applied when purchasing products with Digital Gift Certificates. If you combine the Digital Gift Certificate purchase discount (15%), the refund event (15%), and the online market discount coupon (5%), you can receive up to a 35% discount on products.
During the same period, a lottery event will also be held for Digital Gift Certificate users. Anyone who spends 30,000 won or more in total both online and offline will be automatically entered, and in a drawing next month, 2,025 users each of the card and mobile gift certificates will be awarded Digital Gift Certificates in varying amounts.
The Onnuri Gift Certificate can be used at stores in traditional markets, shopping districts, alley-type shopping districts, and commercial revitalization zones under the Traditional Market Act, as well as at stores in autonomous commercial zones under the Local Commercial District Act and century-old small business stores under the Small Business Act.
Lee Daegun, Director of Small Business Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "We hope that consumers will feel a tangible reduction in holiday shopping costs through the discounted sale and refund event of Digital Gift Certificates for the Lunar New Year."
