Gwangju Dong-gu to Hold 'Warm Hands' Exhibition Until the 17th Gwangju Donggu District will hold the "Warm Hands" sharing exhibition in the lobby on the first floor of the district office until the 17th. Provided by Gwangju Donggu District

Gwangju Dong-gu (District Mayor Lim Taek) announced on the 9th that it will hold the "Warm Hands" sharing exhibition.

The Warm Hands exhibition, which will run until the 17th in the first-floor lobby of the district office, was organized as part of the Miro1 citizen participation project.

The theme of this exhibition, "Warm Hands," is a public art installation inspired by the works of artist Choi Pyeonggon, using bamboo as the main material to artistically express the meaning of community and the values of the May Spirit.

Artist Choi created the piece with comfort and respect for the May spirits who sacrificed their lives in Gwangju's history, and the artwork is currently installed in the Miro Garden within the Miro Center.

To share the emotional value embodied in "Warm Hands," the Miro Center held a total of nine workshops from November to December last year, where residents could create their own plaster objects.

More than 50 residents of various ages, from children to adults, participated, and the colorful plaster objects they created are expected to convey a warm sentiment to visitors.

Lim Taek, mayor of Dong-gu, said, "I am pleased that we can deliver the message of peace and community embodied by Warm Hands to residents in various ways," adding, "We will continue to carry on the values of the May Spirit through diverse cultural and artistic projects."
