Chinese Crime Confession 'Sulsul'... Overseas-Educated Police Officer Arrests Suspect on Site

The Gangbuk Police Station in Seoul announced on the 9th that they arrested Chinese nationals Mr. A (24) and Mr. B (25) on charges of violating the Transportation Business Act and the Immigration Control Act.

On the 24th of last month at 11:13 a.m., the police received a report about someone transporting moving goods without a permit and dispatched officers to the scene. Mr. A denied the charges, saying, "I simply came to visit a friend's house. I only helped move a chair."

Mr. A called his business partner Mr. B and coordinated in Chinese, saying, "Let's say we did it without compensation." They believed the Korean police officers would not understand their conversation. However, the police officer had studied in China for four years during university.

They had entered Korea on student visas (D-2) and were found to have engaged in unauthorized freight transportation without permission, constituting 'activities outside the scope of their residence status.'
