Lee Byungin, president of Jungbumail, who was inaugurated as the second president of the Gongju City Journalists Association, is giving a greeting speech.
The Gongju Journalists Association in Chungnam announced on the 9th that it held the inauguration ceremony for its second president, Lee Byungin (Joongbu Maeil), at the Gongju Cultural Center on the 8th.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Gongju Mayor Choi Woncheol, Gongju City Council Chairman Lim Dalhee, and about 30 leaders of local organizations.
President Lee stated, "The decline in the status of the media ultimately leads to the inability to protect ordinary people from the abuse of power and becomes a cause for the collapse of national authority," and added, "Gain Kim Byungro, who served as the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Korea, emphasized that the freedom of the press and assembly are among the basic rights granted to people by nature at birth, and that, in principle, no one has the power to restrict or deprive these rights."
Meanwhile, the Gongju Journalists Association is comprised of 11 media outlets: Park Jonggu (Jungdo Ilbo), Lee Byungin (Joongbu Maeil), Kim Ikhwan (Chungcheong Today), Oh Hwankwon (Dongyang Ilbo), Kim Hyungjung (The Fact), Lee Byungryeol (Asia Economy), Kim Kwangseop (Teukgeup News), Lee Wongu (Baekje News), Lee Junhee (News Band), Song Hojin (Sidae Focus), and Lee Hyunsun (Local Today).
