Ulsan Ulju-gun has appointed nine local practicing veterinarians as public veterinarians this year to monitor livestock diseases and facilitate smooth livestock quarantine operations.
The appointed public veterinarians will carry out tasks such as culling in affected areas and emergency mobilization for one year in the event of major livestock disease outbreaks. They will conduct quarantine activities to prevent livestock infectious diseases, including disease surveillance, preventive vaccinations, and blood sampling.
Ulju-gun recruited public veterinarians through its own announcement and screening process, and plans to conduct performance evaluations to enhance the veterinarians' sense of responsibility, alleviate inconveniences for livestock farmers, and ensure smooth livestock quarantine activities.
County Governor Lee Soon-geol said, “Livestock quarantine is directly linked to the health and safety of not only livestock farmers but also the residents of Ulju-gun,” adding, “Please do your best to prevent livestock diseases at the forefront of quarantine efforts for a clean Ulju.”
