Victimized Teachers "No Disadvantages Received"
"Could Cause Bigger Problems Later"
Students at a high school in Busan were reported to have illegally filmed under the skirts of female teachers. Among them, some students are said to be soon entering prestigious universities.
According to JTBC's 'Sageon Banjang' on the 7th, during a recent investigation, over 300 illegal recordings were found on the cellphone of A, a third-year high school student who is the main perpetrator of the incident. Among the videos were illegal recordings of eight female teachers at the school as well as ordinary people.
A's crime was first uncovered when the high school health teacher, Ms. B, discovered it. In November of last year, A visited the health room complaining of wrist pain, and while Ms. B, who was wearing a one-piece dress at the time, was treating A's wrist, he reportedly aimed his cellphone camera lens under her skirt.

Afterwards, Ms. B reported this to the school authorities, and A admitted to the crime. Since A was usually a diligent student with a good reputation, his crime came as a shock. The victim teachers, including Ms. B, expressed, "(A) approached us under the pretense of being diligent, which caused great shock and betrayal," and added, "He abused the goodwill of teachers to commit a crime. Even his usual exemplary behavior was actually a way to get close for filming."
Additionally, A involved his peers to carry out the illegal filming. When A pretended to ask teachers questions to attract their attention, his accomplice students would secretly approach and film illegally.
Regarding this, another victim teacher, Ms. C, stated, "From the videos, it appears they worked as a team to illegally film the teachers," and added, "There were videos taken like a game, and after work, A entered the teachers' office, rummaged through desks, and even filmed teachers' sanitary pads."
The school reported the offending students to the police and imposed disciplinary actions including forced transfer and 20 hours of special education. However, A has already been accepted and registered at one of the 'SKY universities,' and one of the accomplices has been admitted through early admission, while another is preparing for regular admission.
The victim teachers told the media, "Even if the offending students are forcibly transferred, once they spend the winter break, graduate, and enter university, everything will be over," and emphasized, "The main perpetrator is entering a prestigious university without any disadvantage, which could lead to bigger problems later."
They also expressed concerns, saying, "Once they receive their diploma and enroll, that's the end," and "Such punishments will make it difficult to prevent recurrence." Meanwhile, according to Sageon Banjang, the offending students showed no signs of apology or remorse, and the school reportedly did not allow parents to make 'direct apologies.'
