Gangdong-gu Issues 8 Billion Won Worth of Gangdong Love Gift Certificates

5% Discount Sale Starting at 11 AM on the 16th

Gangdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced on the 9th that starting from 11 a.m. on the 16th of this month, Gangdong Love Gift Certificates worth 8 billion KRW will be sold at a 5% discount.

This issuance of gift certificates is being promoted to stimulate local consumption and revitalize the regional economy by supporting small business owners ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. Buyers of the gift certificates will receive a 30% income deduction benefit, and merchants will be exempt from payment fees, which the district expects will greatly help local small business owners.

The gift certificates can be purchased by anyone regardless of their place of residence, with a monthly purchase limit of 500,000 KRW per person and a holding limit of 1,500,000 KRW per person, which must be used within five years. To purchase the gift certificates, individuals must install the dedicated app (Seoul Pay Plus) on a mobile phone registered in their name and sign up as a member. Once purchased, the certificates can be used immediately at approximately 10,300 affiliated stores within Gangdong-gu, excluding restricted merchants such as large supermarkets and department stores.

If the gift certificates are purchased with cash, a refund of the remaining balance is possible if at least 60% of the purchase amount has been used. If purchased with a credit card, refunds or gifts of the remaining balance are not allowed.
