[One Day Walk] Overwhelming Scenery of Waves and Jagged Cliffs... Nampalanggil Course 33

17.4km Section Connecting Impo Port in Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam to Samcheonpo

The 'Nampalanggil Course 33' is a section stretching 17.4 km from the breakwater near Impo Port in Hail-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam, passing through Jaran Bay and Sangjokam County Park, to Hail-myeon Office, which borders Samcheonpo (Sacheon City).

It is a path where you can enjoy a 6-hour and 30-minute walk taking in the beautiful fishing village scenery of the southern coast and the tranquil rural landscape. Among the 90 courses that make up Nampalanggil, which runs from Oryukdo Sunrise Park in Busan to Ddangkkeut Village in Haenam, Jeonnam, this is the final course of Goseong-gun, continuing from courses 31 and 32.

[One Day Walk] Overwhelming Scenery of Waves and Jagged Cliffs... Nampalanggil Course 33

To start the course, take a bus from Goseong Passenger Bus Terminal to Hail-myeon, get off at Impo Port after about an hour. If coming to Goseong-gun from the Samcheonpo direction, take bus number 10 from Samcheonpo Intercity Bus Terminal to Shindeok Village, which takes about 40 minutes. You can also walk the course in reverse from here.

Walking along the path beside the breakwater, you enter a deep forest trail, and before you know it, you are walking on a winding deck path along the seaside. Suddenly, you pass through a cliff path where dinosaurs once roamed, experiencing new changing scenery and scents with every step on this mysterious trail.

After leaving Impo Port and walking for about 20 minutes, you pass Sol Island, which juts out into Jaran Bay. A deck path is built around the pine tree-covered island, and during low tide, a sea path opens up allowing you to walk to Sol Island.

Arriving at Donghwa Village while looking out over the deep blue South Sea, the 'Soeulbiposeongji' built by naval forces in the early Joseon Dynasty catches the eye. This was a naval supply base used by Admiral Yi Sun-sin during the Imjin War. Walking along the protective wall, you can also see the traditional fishing method called Seokbangnyeom.

Passing through a long forest trail, a natural scenic wonder created over countless ages unfolds. Along the coastal walking path with rolling waves, there are jagged cliffs and dinosaur footprints. It is recommended to take a short rest at the pebble beach.

The section from 'Sangjokam Cruise Ship Dock - Sangjokam - Sangjokam Pebble Beach - Dinosaur Footprint Fossil Site - Sangjokam Sandy Beach - Ipam Folding Screen Rock Observatory - Maekjeonpo Port Park - Nampalanggil Rest Area' is the highlight of the course and one of the most notable spots on Nampalanggil.

The course itself is not difficult, and you can also see giant dinosaur models at the Goseong Dino Play Center and Goseong Dinosaur Museum. Photo zones are set up throughout, making it a great path to walk with children.
