Sahmyook University announced on the 10th that its International Education Center has been selected as a general operating institution for the 'Immigrant Social Integration Program' organized by the Ministry of Justice.

The Immigrant Social Integration Program is a system that educates immigrants on the Korean language and Korean culture to help them adapt to and become self-reliant in Korean society. Those who complete the program receive benefits such as ▲exemption from the test when applying for naturalization approval ▲fulfillment of basic qualification requirements when applying for permanent residency ▲points awarded when applying for a residence status.
With this selection, Sahmyook University International Education Center will operate the social integration program for three years starting this year. It plans to support immigrants' settlement in local communities by providing various support programs such as ▲citizenship education ▲information for foreign residents ▲customized employment information guidance ▲university admission counseling.
A representative of Sahmyook University International Education Center said, "We will provide educational opportunities with expertise and accessibility to foreigners residing in Korea," adding, "In particular, through cooperation with the Department of Global Korean Studies and the Korean Language and Culture Research Institute, we aim to establish ourselves as a leading institution in global education."
