Cheongdo-gun Holds Briefing Session to Promote Overseas Export of Peaches

Q&A on Cheongdo Peach Export through Regional Tour Briefings

Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongbuk, the largest peach-producing region in Korea, has rolled up its sleeves to globalize 'Cheongdo Peach.'

On the 7th and 8th, Cheongdo-gun held a briefing session for promoting peach exports overseas in 2025 at the Agricultural Technology Center's main conference room, jointly with the 'Korea Peach Export Association,' attended by peach producers and related parties in Cheongdo.

This briefing aimed to raise the interest of Cheongdo peach producers in overseas exports by providing guidance on various matters necessary for peach exports and a Q&A session. On the 7th, it targeted producers from the Hwayang, Gaknam, Punggak, Gakbuk, and Iseo areas, and on the 8th, producers from Cheongdo, Unmun, Geumcheon, and Maejeon areas.

Cheongdo-gun promotes the 'New Year Farmer Practical Education' every year with customized agricultural policies suitable for the region and crop characteristics, trends in newly developed technologies, and field cases. In connection with this education schedule, after mainly providing guidance on peach export-related matters, if necessary, individual additional consultations will be promoted using the 'Export Difficulty Consultation Room' within the Agricultural Technology Center.

Kim Hasu, the mayor of Cheongdo-gun, requested producers to focus on producing excellent agricultural products to stabilize the quality and price of peaches and stated his future determination, saying, "Through this briefing, we expect the possibility of expanding peach exports, which have been minimal so far, and we will strive harder to expand the export of Cheongdo peaches."
