The Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project involves installing two or more types of renewable energy sources (such as solar power, solar thermal, geothermal, etc.) at the same location or distributing one or more types of renewable energy sources in specific areas where residential, public, and industrial buildings coexist.

From 2018 to 2024, Yeoju City secured 5.1 billion KRW in national funding through the convergence support project, installing 3,821 kW of solar power, 207㎡ of solar thermal, 1,627.5 kW of geothermal, and 5 kW of fuel cells in houses and buildings within the city. This year, solar power of 487 kW, solar thermal of 120㎡, and geothermal of 140 kW will be installed in 158 houses and buildings in Daesin-myeon, Buknae-myeon, and Ohak-dong.

A Yeoju City official stated, “We will continue to promote renewable energy distribution projects to reduce residents’ energy costs and contribute to carbon neutrality.”
