Park Soo-min "Amendment to the Double Special Prosecutor Act to Be Discussed Later"

The People Power Party decided on the 8th to maintain its position of 'party rejection' regarding the Dual Special Prosecutor Act (Special Prosecutor Act for Treason and Special Prosecutor Act for Mrs. Kim Geon-hee).
Park Soo-min, the floor spokesperson for the People Power Party, said after a party meeting at the National Assembly on the same day, "The existing unconstitutionality and illegality remain, and it could cause too many problems, so we decided to maintain the party stance."
The People Power Party decided to reject eight bills as a party stance at the afternoon plenary session, including the Dual Special Prosecutor Act, which is scheduled for a re-vote, four agriculture-related bills such as the Grain Management Act amendment, the National Assembly Act amendment, and the National Assembly Testimony and Appraisal Act amendment.
When asked if there was any discussion about the amendment to the Dual Special Prosecutor Act during the party meeting, Park said, "There was a discussion," and added, "However, rejecting unconstitutional bills takes priority for the people and constitutional order, so we decided to reject it today and discuss it later."
Regarding a question about what would happen if an arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol were executed during the afternoon plenary session, Park said, "We strongly warn against that," and added, "There is a problem with the issuance and extension of a warrant requested by an unauthorized institution."
Kwon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party, said in his opening remarks at the party meeting, "The six laws related to the collapse of the state administration proposed by Lee Jae-myung, which Prime Minister Han Deok-soo requested reconsideration for, and the Dual Special Prosecutor Act, which Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok requested reconsideration for, will be submitted to today's plenary session," and urged, "I earnestly ask the members to unite their strength and definitely reject them today."
Kwon emphasized, "The amendment to the National Assembly Act is a declaration of non-compliance with the constitution, stating that the National Assembly does not have to meet the constitutionally stipulated deadline for budget approval," and "The amendment to the National Assembly Testimony and Appraisal Act is a declaration of constitutional violation that infringes on fundamental rights such as physical freedom, privacy, and freedom of business activities."
He added, "The Four Agricultural Bills (Grain Management Act, Agricultural Products Price Stabilization Act, Agricultural and Fishery Disaster Countermeasures Act, Agricultural and Fishery Disaster Insurance Act) represent political populism that prioritizes meeting the demands of some farmer groups regardless of whether rice prices soar or farm income plummets," and criticized, "A world where Lee Jae-myung's words become law, a populist state where the Democratic Party lives above the constitution and disregards businesses, markets, and national finances, is the political goal of the Democratic Party as shown by the six laws related to the collapse of the state administration by Lee Jae-myung."
