The Care Group checks on households at risk of solitary death at least once a week by phone or home visits. They also connect residents to welfare services as needed and respond immediately to crisis situations.
Residents of Seo-gu who wish to participate can apply at the administrative welfare centers of the 18 neighborhoods in Seo-gu from the 8th to the 21st. Selected members of Our Neighborhood Care Group will work six times a month, three hours a day, from next month until the end of December, and receive 60,000 KRW monthly as a reimbursement for 18 hours of activity.
Last year, Seo-gu achieved tangible results by regularly caring for over 1,500 households through 82 members of Our Neighborhood Care Group.
Additionally, through 16,732 home visits, 25,459 phone consultations, and 4,215 resource connections, the group provided emotional support and assistance to isolated residents, playing a significant role in alleviating loneliness and depression.
Kim I-gang, the district mayor, said, “Thanks to the dedicated activities of Our Neighborhood Care Group, we were able to actively identify and support socially isolated households and families in crisis in Seo-gu. We will continue to actively support their activities to build a more robust welfare safety net.”
