Recipients of Medical Benefits and Reduced Out-of-Pocket Expenses for the Low-Income Bracket
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 8th that it will support the cost of shingles vaccination for seniors aged 65 and older.
Recently, the number of shingles patients has been increasing among the elderly, and experts emphasize the importance of vaccination and treatment as the incidence rate is high among those in their 60s and 70s whose immunity is weakened.
The Hapcheon-gun Public Health Center supports vaccination at health centers for seniors aged 65 and older (born on or before December 31, 1960) who have been registered residents of Hapcheon-gun for more than one year and are medical aid recipients or low-income individuals eligible for reduced personal burden. The general public can receive vaccinations at designated medical institutions within the jurisdiction.
Since the schedule may vary depending on the vaccination institution, visitors should check in advance and bring identification or relevant documents. For more details, please contact the Public Health Center’s Vaccination Office.
An Myeong-gi, the head of the Public Health Center, stated, “Our county will support the cost of shingles vaccination to alleviate the economic burden on seniors and protect the health of our residents from shingles onset and complications.”
