Support for High-Quality Fruit Production on Farms
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, held a 'Fruit Tree Disease and Pest Management Technology Training' at the Agricultural Technology Center's Future Life Hall.
The training, conducted on the 7th, was organized to enhance the expertise of farmers and support the production of high-quality fruit trees.
The training, attended by over 130 members from five fruit tree farming groups including the Sancheong Pear Farming Association, Jirisan Apple Farming Group, Hwangmaesan Mountain Apple Farming Group, and Sancheong Hwangmaesan Apple Farming Group, covered the revised Plant Quarantine Act and fruit tree disease and pest management technologies.
In particular, expert training was provided by Dr. Kim Hyung-jun from the Technology Extension Division of the Gyeongnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services and Dr. Choi Hyo-eun from the Disaster Response Division of the Rural Development Administration, receiving positive responses.
During the Fruit Tree Fire Blight Control Council held alongside the training, practical control measures were also discussed.
Additionally, County Governor Lee Seung-hwa visited the training site to listen to the difficulties faced by farmers, strengthening communication and cooperation.
The governor stated, “The revised Plant Quarantine Act and disease and pest management technologies are an important foundation for producing high-quality fruit trees,” and added, “I hope this training will help in effective disease and pest prevention and the establishment of a stable production environment.”
