SPC Group Chairman Huh Young-in Invited to President Trump's Inauguration Ceremony

Heo Young-in, chairman of SPC Group, was invited to the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President Donald Trump. SPC Group announced on the 8th that this invitation was made after the Korea-U.S. Alliance Friendship Association recommended Chairman Heo, who has been engaged in Korea-U.S. economic cooperation activities.

Chairman Heo plans to attend the inauguration ceremony held in Washington D.C. on the 20th (local time) and subsequently meet with U.S. Congress members interested in the Korean economy to strengthen his network. Heo also attended the "Meeting with Korean Businesspeople" when President Trump visited Korea in 2019.


SPC Group is expanding its business in the United States. Paris Baguette, operated by SPC, entered the U.S. market in 2005 and currently operates about 200 stores. Recently, the company announced plans to invest $160 million to build a bakery factory in Burleson, Texas. Its affiliate SPC Samlip exports K-foods such as steamed buns (Hoppang), cream bread, and Yakgwa to the U.S.


An SPC Group official said, "With the second term of the Trump administration, we plan to carry out various investment activities in the United States."
