Oh Dong-woon, head of the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit, stated that he has heard some information regarding the 'President Yoon Seok-yeol escape suspicion.'


Earlier, the YouTube channel 'Goyang-i News' revealed footage of a sedan vehicle leaving the presidential residence on the 3rd, when the Corruption Investigation Office attempted to execute an arrest warrant, raising the possibility of 'President Yoon's escape.'


On the 7th, during the plenary session of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, in response to a question from Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Yong-min asking, "Have you confirmed any facts regarding the escape suspicion?" Oh replied, "I have not received an accurate report yet, but I have heard stories about the vehicle."


When asked by Democratic Party lawmaker Park Beom-gye whether President Yoon was at the residence, he said, "I have not received an accurate report on that and cannot comment."


When Park asked, "Do you think there is a possibility that he fled?" Oh responded, "I am considering various possibilities." When asked again, "Among those possibilities, do you think there is a chance he hid or escaped?" he answered, "Yes, that is correct."

Regarding whether tracking devices were brought during the attempt to execute the arrest warrant on President Yoon on the 3rd, he replied, "Measures were taken in advance on that matter."


In response to criticism suggesting there was no intention to arrest President Yoon from the beginning, he said, "Absolutely not," and refuted, "That is not true. The joint investigation headquarters asked us to do our best for the second execution."


He added that if they proceed with a second execution of the arrest warrant in the future, "We will plan based on the police taking the lead and playing a more active role in the division of responsibilities."


When asked if they could arrest President Yoon if he leaves the residence and enters another official residence, he said, "I have heard reports on that and will consider it comprehensively," adding, "It is difficult to discuss investigation-related matters here."


The Corruption Investigation Office obtained an arrest warrant for President Yoon, who is accused of leading a rebellion, from the Seoul Western District Court on the 31st of last month and attempted to execute the warrant on the 3rd but was blocked by the Presidential Security Service, resulting in failure. The Corruption Investigation Office plans to secure President Yoon's custody this time without fail.
