Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will issue Jungnang Love Gift Certificates worth a total of 6.5 billion KRW on January 14th at 1 PM to ensure everyone has a prosperous and happy New Year in celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year.
This issuance of gift certificates is planned to reduce household burdens during the Lunar New Year holiday and to revitalize the local economy by increasing sales for small local merchants.
The gift certificates can be purchased at a 5% discount through the Seoul Pay Plus app, which is dedicated to Seoul local love gift certificates. The monthly purchase limit per person is 500,000 KRW, and purchases can be made in units of 10,000 KRW.
Even if you already own Jungnang Love Gift Certificates, additional purchases are possible as long as the total holding does not exceed the maximum limit of 1,500,000 KRW. Also, through the app’s ‘Gift’ feature, you can receive individual purchase amounts as gifts from family or acquaintances and hold up to 1,500,000 KRW.
The validity period is five years from the date of purchase, and unused gift certificates can be fully refunded at any time. For used gift certificates, if more than 60% of the purchase amount has been spent, the remaining balance excluding the discount amount can be fully refunded.
Purchased gift certificates can be used at about 8,300 affiliated stores within the region, including traditional markets, restaurants, and bakeries. Detailed usage locations can be searched on the Seoul Pay Plus app.
When using Jungnang Love Gift Certificates, small business owners bear no payment processing fees, and consumers receive a 5% purchase discount benefit and up to 30% income deduction.
