On the 6th, Kang Su-hyun, mayor of Yangju City, attended the 'New Year's Greeting Dharma Assembly for the Development of Yangju City Administration' held at Cheongryeonsa Temple (Head Monk Sangjin) in the district to mark the year of Eulsa (乙巳年) 2025.


On this day, about 60 people attended, including Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City, National Assembly member Jeong Seong-ho, Chairman Yoon Chang-cheol of the Yangju City Council and council members, Chairman Do-il Monk of the Yangju Buddhist Temple Association, and Honorary Chairman Sangjin Monk.


The event proceeded in the order of offering incense, ▲Three Refuges Ceremony ▲recitation of the Heart Sutra ▲three prostrations ▲Sangchuk ▲New Year's address ▲Dharma talk ▲congratulatory speech ▲vow statement ▲and the Fourfold Vows.


The attendees prayed with one heart for the development and prosperity of Yangju City and conveyed messages wishing for the harmony and happiness of the citizens.


Also, at Cheongryeonsa Temple of the Korean Buddhist Taego Order, a donation of 5 million won was made to help neighbors in need in the community prepare for a warm winter, warming the atmosphere of the event.


Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City said, "I express my deep respect and gratitude to Chairman Do-il Monk and Honorary Chairman Sangjin Monk of the Buddhist Temple Association, as well as the members who worked hard to prepare for the Dharma assembly," adding, "In this year of Eulsa, I hope everyone returns to the root of the mind rather than pursuing external happiness, resolving conflicts and divisions to truly sing of peace and happiness."


He continued, "Our Yangju City will respond ahead of changes and take the lead in pioneering the path, and in the new year, we will vigorously advance toward greater hope and a brighter future."
