The Meteorological Agency reported, citing foreign observation agencies, that at 5:32 PM (Korean time) on the same day, a magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred 379 km southeast off the coast of Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.
The epicenter was at 31.40 degrees north latitude and 138.70 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 420 km.
