Earlier, on the 8th of last month, following the acceptance of former Minister Lee Sang-min's resignation, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety transitioned to Deputy Minister Go's acting minister system.
Deputy Minister Go said he is focusing on digital government matters next to disaster management. Referring to the large-scale national administrative network system outage that occurred two years ago, he said, "Since all government services are now conducted digitally, we are focusing on managing the stable operation of digital services without any disruptions."
He added, "Not only management, but since Korea's digital government ranks first in the world, we are actively encouraging the use of artificial intelligence in various situations without hesitation."
He emphasized that policies and administration related to local governments will also be carried out without disruption. Deputy Minister Go explained, "Although the central government is facing considerable difficulties, I believe local governments must provide stable support," and added, "I am urging to strengthen the cooperative relationship with local governments."
