Since 2010, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has conducted evaluations annually on 73 provinces and cities with populations over 100,000 based on Article 15 of the 'Sustainable Transport and Logistics Development Act' to diagnose the status and policies related to transportation in environmental, social, and economic sectors and improve identified issues.

The evaluation was conducted by a panel of 10 experts who assessed a total of 27 indicators across four sectors related to transportation: environment, society, and economy.

Yangju City received high marks across all evaluation indicators, including recognition for leading transportation policies such as ▲establishing a safe transportation system ▲efforts to manage parking demand ▲strengthening management of traffic safety facilities ▲securing competitiveness in public transportation.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju said, “This achievement is the result of continuous preparation and effort by transportation safety-related organizations and citizens who cooperated with transportation policies to be selected as a sustainable transport city. We will continue to discover various transportation policies and do our best to implement transportation welfare that meets the expectations of our citizens.”
