Jeonnam Office of Education Selected as 'Performance Improvement Institution' in Board of Audit and Inspection Review

Awarded for Climbing the Rankings for Two Consecutive Years

The Jeonnam Office of Education announced on the 7th that it has been selected as a 'Performance Improvement Institution' after its ranking rose significantly for two consecutive years in the recent self-audit activity evaluation by the Board of Audit and Inspection.

According to the Office of Education, the Board of Audit and Inspection annually evaluates government agencies, metropolitan and basic local governments, city and provincial offices of education, and public institutions subject to the 'Public Audit Act.'

This evaluation was conducted in 2024 for 677 institutions, applying 10 assessment criteria such as ▲interest and commitment at the institutional level to supporting self-audit organizations ▲improvement of independence and infrastructure of self-audit organizations ▲audit planning and execution capabilities ▲post-management of audit findings, among others.

In this evaluation, the Office of Education received high marks for upgrading the quality of its self-audits by providing pre-audit consulting to target institutions, identifying key audit issues, and operating audit quality improvement councils and audit disposition review committees after the completion of audits.

Kim Jae-gi, Director of Audit, stated, "We will implement audits that provide practical assistance to target institutions through demand-oriented and consulting-centered audits," and added, "After audits are completed, we will actively promote audit work so that the autonomous development of each institution leads to the advancement of Jeonnam education and creates a synergistic effect."
