Creating a Young Urban City Gimcheon... 2025 Monthly Rent Support Program for Young Newlywed Couples

Creating Living Conditions for Youth Settlement

Gimcheon City in Gyeongbuk is focusing its administrative efforts on creating residential conditions that allow young people to settle down and put down roots in their lives.

On the 7th, Gimcheon City announced that it will implement the 2025 Young Newlywed Monthly Rent Support Project to provide a better housing environment for young newlywed couples and alleviate the high housing cost burden relative to their income, thereby supporting a stable housing environment.

The support targets young newlywed couples without a home (aged 19 to 39) whose combined annual income is 60 million KRW or less, living in rental housing with a deposit of 50 million KRW or less and monthly rent of 800,000 KRW or less as of the application date.

The support provides up to 300,000 KRW per month (for 2 years), differentiated by annual income bracket, for the monthly rent already paid by the young newlywed couples. To apply, the monthly rent contract holder must sign up and apply through the Gyeongsangbuk-do Housing Welfare System online application platform.

Dongguk Shin, Director of the Architecture and Design Division of Gimcheon City, said, “We hope to ease the housing cost burden faced by newlywed couples and support a stable housing environment, helping young newlywed couples who hesitate to have children. We will continue to strive to create a stable housing environment in the future.”
