Chungnam Province announced on the 7th that it was selected as the only metropolitan government to receive the top award in the ‘2024 Statistical Work Promotion Merit’ hosted by Statistics Korea.
The province was recognized for establishing survey plans tailored to local conditions for the business and mining/manufacturing surveys, and for conducting high-quality statistical surveys by hiring surveyors through fair interviews, thereby enhancing professionalism and pride.
In addition, Chungnam received high praise for participating in pilot surveys for large-scale national statistics, such as the 2025 Population and Housing Census and the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery Census, which are conducted every five years, thus contributing to advance preparation and verification.
The results of the 2024 business survey will be announced in March, and are expected to be used for establishing regional economic policies, industrial linkage analysis, and business planning for companies within the province.
A provincial official stated, “Only when administrative tasks are carried out based on accurate field statistics and data can policies be created that provide a variety of benefits to residents,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to produce reliable, dynamic regional statistics and provide information.”
