The jang making experience is an educational program where citizens directly participate in all processes from making meju blocks to fermenting jang, allowing them to inherit and experience traditional jang foods.

The experience is conducted over four sessions, including jang making and stirring, and citizens will also manage the final fermentation process themselves to enhance the educational effect of jang making.

The 2025 Traditional Jang Making Experience will be held for 60 Gwangju citizens, starting with the sterilization of jang jars and jang making on February 17 and 19, and continuing until September.

Applications are open to Gwangju citizens and can be submitted online through the Gwangju City Hall website (Agricultural Technology Center Education) from the 20th to the 29th for 10 days. More details can be found on the Gwangju City Hall website (News). For inquiries, please contact the Agricultural Support Division, Life Technology Team.
