According to Yangju City on the 7th, the appointment certificate ceremony was attended by Mayor Kang Su-hyun, Yangju City Council member Kim Hyun-soo, Welfare and Culture Bureau Director Kim Eun-mi, and others, celebrating the new beginning of the Yangju City Hall bowling and athletics teams and wishing them success in the future.
This year, Yangju City's workplace sports team consists of 8 members in the bowling team and 5 members in the athletics team.
In particular, the athletics team, which was founded last year with one coach and two female athletes, has newly recruited two male athletes this year, establishing a foundation to participate in mixed-gender relay events.
The newly joined athletes include a total of six players from both inside and outside the region, including Ha Yu-rim (bowling team) from Deokjeong High School and Lee Jun-sang (athletics team) from Deokgye High School. The city expects that this recruitment will strengthen the connection of local sports and further solidify ties with the local community.
Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City stated, “The expansion of the athletes this year following the founding of the athletics team last year was possible thanks to the full support and cooperation of the City Council for elite sports support,” adding, “We will continue to do our best for the development of sports in Yangju City and the nurturing of local athletes, including bowling and athletics.”
Meanwhile, the city plans to make various efforts to raise the status of Yangju City sports centered on the workplace sports team.
