Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon criticized the impeachment prosecution team led by the Democratic Party of Korea for excluding 'treason' from the grounds for impeaching President Yoon Seok-yeol, calling it "'constitutional disruption' caused by Lee Jae-myung's presidential ambitions."
On the 7th, Mayor Oh wrote on Facebook, "There is only one reason why the Democratic Party excluded treason, a dark hand," adding, "It means they will stop at nothing to advance the presidential election timing of the accused criminal, Representative Lee Jae-myung."
Mayor Oh pointed out, "While Lee Jae-myung's Democratic Party tries to remove treason from the grounds for impeachment, they impeached Acting Prime Minister Han Duck-soo on the grounds of treason collaboration," adding, "It is a clear contradiction to claim there is no treason but hold someone responsible for treason collaboration."
He continued, "Furthermore, they talk about a 'second treason' against Acting Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok," and added, "Is it treason if it obstructs their rule, but not treason if it benefits their rule?"
Mayor Oh emphasized that amending the impeachment motion violates legal procedures. He said, "Impeachment is a serious constitutional procedure. Arbitrarily altering an impeachment motion that has already passed the National Assembly reduces the constitution to a tool for political bargaining," adding, "Lee Jae-myung's personal political ambition has taken the entire constitutional order of the Republic of Korea hostage."
He then demanded a public apology from the opposition party. Mayor Oh stated, "Representative Lee and the Democratic Party must take responsibility for this constitutional chaos and apologize to the people."
