This event is jointly organized by the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA), the Asian Mountaineering Federation, and the Korea Alpine Federation, and is hosted by Cheongsong-gun and the Gyeongbuk Provincial Mountaineering Federation, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Gyeongbuk Province, the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation.

The competition will feature 128 ice climbing athletes from 18 countries around the world, showcasing their top skills and engaging in fierce competition.

This event is designed not just as a sports competition but as a festival blending Cheongsong’s traditional culture and attractions. Various programs that all generations can enjoy have been prepared, including exhibitions of Cheongsong white porcelain and flower stones with a 500-year tradition, as well as the experience program 'Hit the Lucky 13.5 Seconds.'

Through this, participants and visitors are expected to fully enjoy both Cheongsong’s traditional culture and sports simultaneously.

Additionally, a signing ceremony for the extension of the World Cup event for five more years (2026?2030) will be held during the competition. Through this, Cheongsong-gun aims to further solidify its status as the holy ground of international ice climbing and lay the foundation for ice climbing to be adopted as an official event in the Winter Olympics.

Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “Based on our experience of hosting the first Asian Ice Climbing World Cup in 2011, we have done our best to create a safe and immersive competition environment for this event,” and added, “We have prepared various experience programs and exciting attractions, so we ask for your great interest and participation.”
