Opposition Raises Responsibility of Acting Chief Choi Sang-mok on Warrants
"Lee Jae-myung Should Attend His Own Trial Diligently"
Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, criticized Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "A person who has walked the path of a prisoner is destroying the community order to become a king."

At the floor strategy meeting held at the National Assembly on the 7th, Floor Leader Kwon said, "Lee mocked President Yoon Seok-yeol, saying he is destroying our community order and trying to become a king but is now walking the path of a prisoner." He added, "I hope Lee sincerely attends his own trial," and questioned, "What right does a person who refused to receive the lawsuit notification by unknown address and absence at the door have to talk about order and responsibility?"
Floor Leader Kwon also said, "In particular, Lee stated that strict responsibility must be held for the disorderly acts and the second rebellion committed by Choi Sang-mok, acting Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance," and criticized, "How exactly does he intend to hold responsibility? Is he fiddling with the impeachment card again?"
This can be interpreted as a criticism of Lee, who is facing judicial risks himself, for blaming Acting Prime Minister Choi for not cooperating with the High-ranking Officials’ Crime Investigation Office (HOCI) in executing a warrant.
He continued, "In fact, among senior Democratic Party lawmakers, talk about impeaching Acting Prime Minister Choi is circulating," emphasizing, "They are starting the impeachment hostage drama again. Since they have already impeached 29 times, they intend to make it 30 times no matter what."
Floor Leader Kwon said, "Now they are hinting at impeaching the acting president who also serves as deputy prime minister for the economy, and are preparing to carry out economic destruction," adding, "Destruction is another name for Lee. He is currently facing five trials for eight cases and twelve charges, and as he impeaches the prosecutors who investigated him, he is effectively destroying the judicial system."
He also continued his criticism regarding the parliamentary impeachment prosecution team’s withdrawal of the charge of rebellion under the Criminal Procedure Act against President Yoon. Floor Leader Kwon explained, "The impeachment decision for former President Park Geun-hye clearly states that after the National Assembly requests an impeachment trial, it is not allowed to add new charges or change existing charges to the extent that their identity is not recognized without a separate resolution procedure. In light of this decision, the withdrawal of the rebellion charge seriously damages the identity with the existing charges and naturally requires a separate resolution procedure."
