On the same day, at the 12th meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for the Jeju Air passenger plane accident held at the Government Seoul Office, Acting President Choi said, "The government will provide meticulous and thorough support so that the bereaved families can overcome the pain of the accident and return to their daily lives."
The Community Chest of Korea will support emergency living expenses to the bereaved families starting from the 10th by using the national special fundraising. The Financial Services Commission will provide special guarantees through the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund if the bereaved families require new funds.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will defer repayment and extend the maturity of existing loans and guarantees held by small business owners and entrepreneurs who were victims of this accident. If additional funds are needed for business stabilization, new funds will also be supported at low interest rates. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will establish the "12·29 Passenger Plane Accident Victim Support Group," succeeding the integrated support center currently located at Muan Airport, within this month.
Acting President Choi emphasized, "Now that most of the on-site recovery is complete, investigations and analyses to determine the cause of the accident will proceed in earnest," adding, "The government will investigate the cause of the accident objectively and transparently based on laws, regulations, and international standards, ensuring independence and neutrality."
