Chilean Wine Brand 'Casillero del Diablo'
Records Million-Seller Status for 6 Consecutive Years
Ayong FBC announced on the 7th that the Chilean wine brand 'Casillero Del Diablo' surpassed 2 million bottles in cumulative domestic sales last year. Diablo is the only single wine brand in Korea to exceed 2 million bottles in annual sales.
Previously, Diablo first exceeded 1 million bottles in sales in 2019, recording 1.51 million bottles in 2020, 1.99 million in 2021, 1.94 million in 2022, and 1.65 million in 2023. As of the end of December last year, it sold 2.08 million bottles, making it a million-seller for six consecutive years.
The company cited unique marketing and strategic product expansion as the reasons behind Diablo surpassing 2 million bottles in annual sales. After the Korean-exclusive limited edition featuring the traditional Korean demon, Dokkaebi, was first released in 2021 and gained great popularity, the Blue Dragon edition followed, and this year the Cheongsa edition was introduced. Starting from Dokkaebi, the brand expanded its universe with the Twelve Zodiac series wishing for the New Year, attracting significant consumer interest and combining rarity with traditional values to enhance brand loyalty.
Additionally, the white wine lineup was strengthened to target the summer market. Diablo Chardonnay led the growth of white wines with sales exceeding 200,000 bottles this year, and the low-calorie, low-alcohol Vira Light Sauvignon Blanc received a positive response from consumers who prefer lighter drinks.
An Ayong FBC representative said, "Achieving 2 million bottles despite the difficult economic situation was possible thanks to the steady love from consumers," adding, "The recently launched Diablo Cheongsa edition also showed a successful start with all 240,000 bottles of the first import shipment sold out."
